Reliable and flexible solution for low volatile coal

BHI-FW has supplied over 70 Arch-Fired Boilers, about 2/3 of the world’s installed base, for burning low rank coals including Anthracites, Semi-Anthracites, low volatile bituminous coals and pet cokes. Our unique design incorporates more than a dozen patents related to the Arch-Fired combustion system, which delivers higher plant efficiency and lower NOx emissions with our proprietary Down-shot burners and OFA system designs. Arch-Fired Boilers are an excellent alternative to consider when faced with the need to effectively accommodate combustion of different grades of low rank, low reactivity coals.

Cyclone Burner Control Flexibility

The BHI-FW Down-shot burner uses a dual cyclone arrangement to accurately control the admission of coal into the furnace. Flame optimization is accomplished by a combination of vent damper and burner core adjustments that control the rate of burn in the overfire air system and the shape of the main flame. Together these adjustments are used to minimize NOx, CO and Unburned Carbon.
